Week 1

The TD Summer Reading Club has begun at the Region of Waterloo Library!  

This week, Janine’s program theme is What’s Under the Sea?.  We will read The Rainbow Fish, play Sleeping Sharks and make “pet” crabs (pictured above).  

 

To make your own crab at home you will need:

paper plate

24 straw pieces

hole punch

9 pipe cleaners

markers 

Instructions:

Thread pipe-cleaners through the 8 side-holes and twist to secure

Put three pieces of straw on each of the pipe-cleaners

Bend legs to shape/make look like it is walking  

Put pipe-cleaner through the front-hole with ends sticking up and twist to secure

Add “claws” to front legs and twist to secure

Colour
